British actor Andrew Garfield stars in this compelling American drama as Dennis Nash, a young single father residing in Florida who struggles on a daily basis to find any valuable work as a construction worker. Unable to keep the money coming in, Dennis is forced to leave his home along with his young son Connor (Noah Lomax) and mother Lynn (played by Oscar-nominated actress Laura Dern). Dennis soon discovers that they only way to get his family back into their home is by taking work from self-made businessman and real estate broker (Michael Shannon).
99 Homes is directed by American writer-director Ramin Bahrini, whose previous films include Chop Shop (2007), Goodbye Solo (2009) and At Any Price (2014). Bahrini’s latest film explores the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008 which saw the devastating effects of the American real estate market and the rise of homeless citizens in the U.S.
The film has gained critical acclaim and has earned Shannon his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
